Detailed Itinerary
..........................................
Day 1: Saigon Arrival – City tour (Meals: Lunch)
Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and start the tour. We will visit the places below:
The Reunification Palace: This is one of the most important buildings in the city. Here on April 30th 1975 the American War officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.

War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the Requiem exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.

Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Her two 40m towers, topped with iron spires dominate the citys skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the countrys largest post office. At approximately 1pm we shall take lunch at the renowned Pho 2000 near the Ben Thanh Market.

PM: Giac Lam Pagoda: This is Saigons oldest pagoda, dating back to 1744 and one of the finest in Vietnam. Inside 98 pillars and 113 statues and a myriad of mini-Buddhas vie for your attention. Dont miss the amazing Tree of Wandering Souls where people pray for their sick relatives by writing the names of their loved ones on slips of paper and then attaching them to the tree.
Cholon, including the Thien Hau Pagoda: Cholon actually means Big Market - a claim that is well justified as Vietnams largest market, the Binh Tay is situated here. The district is home to the citys 400,000 Chinese and has many beautiful temples and pagodas.
Ben Thanh Market: This bustling market is very popular with tourists, primarily due to its central location. It has a wide selection of goods ranging from fake Nike shoes to beautiful silk Ao Dai. Overnight at hotel in Saigon.

Day 2: Saigon – Caibe Floating Market – Saigon (Meals: Lunch)
Start early in the morning for our drive to Cai Be, where we board our private boat for a cruise through the busy Cai Be floating market. We then make a stop to visit some local cottage industries such as the coconut candy workshop, learn how to make puffed-rice, puff-corn, or witnessing the process of making rice paper. Continuing with our cruise through the maze of canals the criss-cross the An Binh island, we land at Mr. Ba Kiet old house. Here we can enjoy devouring the fresh tropical fruits of the Delta, while having a short traditional music show performed by local artists. Lunch at a local garden restaurant.

After lunch, we have a short walk around the island to see how the people here make their living and enjoying their life. We carry on to a Nursery garden, where you can see most of the Delta fruits seedlings. The final point of visit will be a Brick & pottery kiln. Drive back from Vinh Long town to Ho Chi Minh. Arrive at 18:00 PM. Overnight at hotel in Saigon.

Day 3: Saigon – Cao Dai – Cu Chi Tunnels (Meals: Lunch)
In the morning we drive to the region near the Cambodian border. This is home to the unique Cao Dai sect whose patron saints include Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill to name but a few. This religion is an odd mix of Buddhist, Taoist, Confucianism and Christianity. Join Cao Dai worshippers for their daily noontide ceremony where hundreds of worshipers attired in lively red, yellow blue and white, chant religious hymns. Following is Lunch in local restaurant.

After lunch we will continue to the Cu Chi tunnels, otherwise known as the "Iron Triangle" or "Iron Land". On our way there we will drive through pleasant countryside; rubber plantations and rice paddies. Before entering the tunnels, we will see a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, followed by an exploration of the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs dropped by B52 bombers. Our tour finishes at the hotel around 5 PM. End of our services.
