Cu Chi Tunnels, Cao Dai Temple & Wildlife at Risk
Information | 28-Jan-2013, 10:37:37 PM

Get down & dirty at one of Vietnam’s most popular tourist attractions, the amazing Cu Chi Tunnel complex. Combine it with visits to the amazing Cao Dai temple at Tay Ninh and the nearby Wildlife at Risk shelter, and you have a truly memorable day out!

08: 30 Pick you up at your hotel & transfer to Tay Ninh to visit the amazing Cao Dai temple. You will have chance take part in the midday ceremony& take pictures, before having lunch at a local restaurant.

Then transfer to Cu Chi tunnels, where you will start the visit on foot. You will have a short film on the history of Cu Chi tunnels before walking into the forest where the tunnels are located. There are several choices for distance of tunnel which you can crawl in (NB don’t wear your best clothes for this as you will get hot & dirty!) The shortest one is 30 meters and longest one is 100 meters. In total the system measures 250 km, connecting several villages together.

The tunnels will give you a real experience of life during the war. Soldiers and their families fought and lived in the tunnels. There were even schools, health care rooms, special hidden smoke kitchens, meeting rooms and bedrooms underground.

After experiencing the tunnels, take a break with some hot green tea boiled in pandan leaves and try with some steamed tapioca in the forest.

Have a short walk to get back to the car and drive to the Wildlife at Risk shelter where they protect the rare animals of this region and rescue animals from mistreatment by local people. Take a walk for a visit and get some fresh air before heading back to Saigon.
